Introducing the newest member of the power modules family, the Wolfspeed WolfPACK GM3.

For years, Wolfspeed has been the leader in Silicon Carbide (SiC) power products. In fact, Wolfspeed was the first to commercially release a Silicon Carbide MOSFET and is dedicated to designing Silicon Carbide components that help power today’s most innovative technology solutions.

Wolfspeed is excited to announce the company’s newest line of Wolfspeed WolfPACK power modules, which are specially designed to bridge the gap between single die discrete components and high-ampacity module solutions, giving today’s design engineers a true end-to-end solution for all system design needs using Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide.

Overview

Wolfspeed’s WolfPACK modules are all about choice and flexibility. In the past, design engineers had limited options for their medium-power applications. It often came down to choosing either a higher-current module that was overkill for the design or creating a system that used multiple discrete components arranged in series and parallel, leading to increased design complexity.

Wolfspeed WolfPACK changes all of that, and here’s how: For starters, the heart and soul of these new modules are Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide devices, which means it is built upon the same technology that has made Wolfspeed the world’s most trusted manufacturer of Silicon Carbide technology. With Wolfspeed WolfPACK, you get the same reliability and quality you’ve come to expect from Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide devices.

Wolfspeed WolfPACK modules make system design flexible, using press-fit pins to make both prototyping and manufacturing easy. Press-fit pins are far more reliable than both traditional hand soldering and automatic soldering.

For engineers working in the mid-power range, maximizing power density while minimizing design complexity is essential -- and those are two areas where the Wolfspeed WolfPACK modules shine. With the simplicity of this module design, engineers can enjoy the efficient, powerful performance of Wolfspeed Silicon Carbide (proven to provide increased ampacity and reliability), while keeping system layouts simple with straightforward design and assembly processes. Systems built around Wolfspeed WolfPACK lend themselves to scalability to help accelerate your production pipeline and help lower your system assembly costs. These new Wolfspeed WolfPACK modules come in all Silicon Carbide MOSFET half-bridge and all Silicon Carbide MOSFET six-pack configurations with a variety of milliohm options.
